One year ago
An
Unlikely Hero, the first in the Enigma Series was released. I am
currently in the edit stage of that same series with Winds of Deception. During
JANO I wrote the third book, titled Rooftop Angels. Also in the last
year I wrote a romantic suspense novel titled The Rescued Heart which
takes place in a mining town in the Ozarks. Black Opal Books will be publishing
this novel. Impossible to imagine but I’ve also published two children’s books;
There’s
a Superhero in the Library & Zombie Meatloaf, both with small
publishing companies.

How does my work differ
from others in this genre?

Although my
novels are action and suspense driven, my main character, Tessa, is not so
different than you and I. She is a wife, mother and educator with a strong
faith in God. Also like most of us, she is scared of her own shadow, timid and
used to putting herself last. Because of events out of her control, Tessa
becomes the most unlikely of heroes by using common sense and life experiences
to unravel a terrorist plot. In my stand alone novel, The Rescued Heart, I deal
with a mining town in the Ozarks. I understand what it is to kiss your loved
one goodbye in the morning and wonder if they will return at the end of their
shift. My heroes are ordinary people that walk among us every day.

I try to
write every day or at least do something connected to that craft. Music is a
large part of my inspiration. Movie and video game soundtracks are what I use
as background when I write. I also keep a notebook for each story to collect
facts, ideas to break writer’s block and character information. My desk is in
the living room where I surround myself with the things I love.

I still haven't tried writing to music. Many of the writers I know do that, and I've been curious to give it a try, but never have.
Your personality comes through in your writing. So happy for you, lady!
Inner Laura Croft…I love it. Can't wait until I get to read more about Tessa!
I have never written to music but it might be just the ticket. Looking forward to the next book
Usually, I have the radio on when I'm writing. I guess that qualifies as writing to music. I prefer adult contemporary, KGBX or KTXR. Sometimes, when I'm writing a fantasy story, I put in an Enya CD. I guess this all dates me.
