I’m not a person who makes New Year’s resolutions. In my head I try to commit to making my life better each year, but that’s pretty much a day to day event for me. Life is not perfect for anyone. But there is one thing I want to promise to do this year. Say “thank you.” Very simple. Although I feel my life is full of blessings I’m guilty of taking that for granted way too often. Join me in the coming year of counting all the good things in our lives. Commit to doing the things that makes life better for everyone, especially you.
Laugh – it’s contagious
Speak with respect to others even when you don’t like them
Eat healthy but eat what makes you happy too
Watch good movies especially the old black and white ones
Read even if it’s the back of a cereal box
Plant flowers
Smile
Take time to pamper yourself at least once a week
Take naps
Pray even when you don’t want to
Make new friends
Keep a journal about discoveries
Kiss a baby and make them giggle
Join a new group
Wear warm socks and drink a cup of coffee before starting the day
Listen to music from around the world
Most of all be better than you are today

Lovely! A friend of mine had a byword given to her at the beginning of 2013. It was, "Shut up." Sounds harsh, but it was perfect. When she remained still, she saw and experienced everything you mention above. It opened her up when she was quiet, observed, and gave. Amen!
