Finding the Time
·
This week will be just as busy. I signed a contract with Black Opal Books last week so I’m expecting edits for that manuscript very soon. I have two school appearances, classes and several meetings before I get that contest manuscript ready for Thriller Nashville. So when do I have time to write? Some weeks are better than others, but I really try to do some writing everyday. That might be edits or work on something new. Sometimes I write for hours and other times it will be thirty minutes. But there is never a day that I don’t practice being a writer. It is beneficial to me that I don’t need a certain time of day to write. I can do it all the time. That really helps when you get distracted by laundry or lillies bursting forth in the garden.
It probably sounds like I was too busy to write this week. But I actually made a lot of progress on several manuscripts and contests entries. I also worked ahead for my classes and planned out a writing class I hope to teach in the future. We are all busy. Don’t give up your creativity because of scheduling. You deserve to be a writer.
Don’t forget to roll over to these blogs in support of other writers.

Congrats on your contract! That's great news. You are a busy lady. Where did you speak to 300 kids? Branson?
It is hard to find time to write, promote, edit, and still have a life but we must. It's what we're cut out to do. Have fun at Killer Nashville. I hear that's a great conference and one I'll attend once my romantic suspense is out, which will be a year or two, I imagine.

We need to meet to pick each other's brains on the life of a writer.

It seems none of us have time. If you make a list of things you have accomplished, at least you can look back on it and see you were making progress.
