Years ago I traveled to Africa. My mother used to think I was weird because I wanted to marry Tarzan or follow in the footsteps of Dr. Stanley Livingston. She would shake her head and say, “I don’t know what is wrong with you. It’s not what you think.”
She was right. It was so much more. Going to Africa was my first time out of the country. Jumping time zones, crossing the equator, converting money and fahrenheit to celsius was all a part of the journey. I loved every second. At the time I was a learning disabilities teacher for junior high and high schoolers. Most of my students were boys. I wanted to bring back something they could use in their education, something to make them thirst for more knowledge.
Creating this book was a labor of love. It is designed for all ages, all subjects and interests.
