Sizzle in the Kitchen with Author Kierstin Marquet
I got the giggles when Tierney invited me to participate in her ‘Sizzle in Kitchen Series’ because, the world is safer if I don’t cook. See Exhibit A: These are supposed to be rolls NOT tennis balls the dog mauled.
As a means of survival, my husband (who loves to cook) taught our kids how to make amazing things like pizza from scratch.
When forced to, I can scrape together a semblance of homemaking skills in the form of desserts. I can’t decide if I’ll share my chocolate chip cookie or banana muffin recipe. My son tells me that I call the latter “muffins” to make myself feel better, because they really should be classified as “banana cake.” If you’ve got a sweet tooth, you’ll love either of my favs.
With all this counter space, you’d think culinary perfe
ction could happen anywhere.
Nope. Meal prep is relegated to this ity bity corner with the Kitchen Aid mixer. My son calls it “The Pizza Making Station.” Hmm, so for dessert, do we want to go with the healthier option –bananas or chocolate chip cookies with a plot twist?
I still can’t make up my mind. Let me think about it. In the meantime, Tierney mentioned her grandmother’s collection of salt and pepper shakers. Here’s mine—baby Mason jars and their accompanying sidekicks.
I collect Mason Jars because that’s the name of my series. The title is based on memories my family created when we worked together to get through challenging times. The Mason Jar Series is a collection of romantic suspense novels that will encourage readers to laugh with the good guys, despise bad guys, and cry with helpless victims. In the end, readers may just want to reach out and rescue someone in need.
Funny fact: In the Mason Jar Series, the Mason family has a ‘No Swearing’ rule which was inspired by my family’s rule. Whoever curses owes the rest of the family cookies. I have to admit, that sometimes “Oh shoot!” doesn’t cover it, especially when teaching teenagers how to drive, so I’m in debt for about 20 batches.
Calorie count: Don’t ask.
THANKS Tierney for the opportunity to share my “talents” in the kitchen.

Whoever heard of a kidnapper with a sense of honor?
Illegal immigrant Tommy Ramirez made three reluctant promises to a dying woman. Kidnapping a cop’s daughter is the only way he can keep them. College student, Ashten Mason, is a stranger to trouble until a gorgeous guy with a gun jumps into her car and demands help. Soon embroiled in one dangerous situation after another, they are forced to rely on one another—an idea that Ashten believes is an oxymoron, and one that drives Tommy crazy.
WHAT ARE PEOPLE SAYING about Three Reluctant Promises, the first book released in the Mason Jar Series?
Suspense/Medical thriller author Gregg Luke described Three Reluctant Promises, as move(ing) so fast it should come with seat belts. Yet, woven into each intense thrill is a wonderful story of trust and friendship that stays with the reader long after they finish. This is a great story! Purchase Link for Three Reluctant Promises
