You’re still going to carry me around, right?
I think this was written for me.
What am I doing here at the beginning of autumn? I’ll be having surgery. Groan. I’m having a knee replacement. The really cool part is that they’re making it with a 3D Printer! Talk about space-age technology! I’m trying to pretend I’ll have a bionic knee like those six million dollar characters from eons ago. I’ll be able to run at top speed, leap over an oncoming, out of control 18 wheeler, and never break a sweat. Makeup and hair in place goes without saying.
Who am I kidding? If you catch me running anytime in the future, new knee or not, there is a clown chasing me with a meat cleaver dripping with blood. The only way you’re going to get me to jog is if I get some really cute workout clothes and Mark Wahlberg ask me go with him for a run–in the rain–on the Qualla Reservation in Cherokee, North Carolina. So there. Safe!
Lobby of the hospital. Where is everyone? Does this indicate concern? Hmmm?
I’m dreading not being 100% for a couple of weeks, not being able to drive (those pesky pain meds) and to have the hubby take care of things. (Wish me luck on that one.) My pain level in my knee has really increased this summer and it really needed to be done. So along with a pumpkin latte in hand, I’m getting a new knee.
What I imagine my life should be. 
The reality. Not at all graceful!
This is all because of an injury from 2006. I’d like to tell you I missed a step on Mt. Everest or crashed my non-existent race car into a wall at Daytona, but sadly no. I stepped out of my classroom onto a tiny pencil.

Geez, I was hoping you would have a bionic knee so you could come up here and do all the things that require getting down on the ground.
